ICL Leadership:

We believe as a community that we all have gifts and skills. Leadership is one such gift and calling but it does not make leaders more important to God than others. Leadership is a call to serve, to be a good example, to encourage us all to discern the way forward and help others to grow. In ICL, we believe in team leadership. Though we have a lead pastor who heads up the eldership team, our hope is that as a community that we will never have a hierarchical leadership structure at all.

Eldership team:

Andy and Helen Vince (andy@ichurchleiden.nl) The Blog   (New photo needed - our other one was a bit out of date!!)

Andy serves and works as the lead pastor of ICL with Helen's support and he heads up the eldership team and pastoral staff. Andy and Helen moved to Leiden from SW England in August 2006. They have two children who consistently show up their parents when it comes to speaking Dutch! Helen also works as a part time teacher in a local international school as well as specifically overseeing the youth and kids ministry teams at ICL. Andy is commencing a Masters in Missional Leadership(Mattersey Hall/University of Chester). In their spare time they love walking, reading, gardening, cycling good music or a good movie and hanging out with friends.

Anton van de Steege (sorry no photo yet) Anton is from South Africa and is married to Madeleine and they have three children. Anton works in industry. As a couple they lead one of the ICL life groups as well as giving pastoral time into people's lives. Amton brings a great deal of wisdom and insight into the eldership team and is the treasurer for the church. Mads adds fantastic creativity into the ICL mix in areas such as leadership development. They are great hosts and it has to be said they make awesome South African food!

Ben Workala(sorry no photo yet) (ben@ichurchleiden.nl) 

Ben serves on the eldership team and along with his wife Shirley helps with pastoral care and host our Dutch life group. Shirley heads up the ICL music team. They have seven children. They both work in reintegration tasks to help people return to or find employment. Ben also has a passion for making hand crafted wood products to be sold to support projects in Indonesia(his home country) It has to be said they both cook fantastic Indonesian food! Lekker eten!! 

Joost van Dyk (joost@ichurchleiden.nl)

Joost serves on the eldership team, including the role of secretary and pastoral staff and along with his wife Welmoed, oversees the life group leaders. They have three children. Joost works in a management role within the local offices of a multinational paint company, Welmoed works for a local section of an international pharmaceutical company. Joost is following a Masters in Practical Theology course (Mattersey Hall/University of Chester). As a couple they have a real heart for developing and mentoring others and to relax, they love to have family time and do sports and active pursuits(though they are not joining the Olympic squad in the near future!)

Piet du Preez (sorry no photo yet) - Piet is another South African on our team and married to Inez. They have two grown up daughters and a son-in-law too. Piet works in international financial transfer support and Inez teaches at an international school. Is it a South African characteristic? Just like Anton, Piet brings much wisdom and insight to the team. He and Inez are also great cooks! Together as a couple they head up our hospitality team and Inez brings creativity and a detailed eye for this which is really appreciated.

Pastoral Staff Team

The eldership team gives the big picture oversight to the life of ICL. A Pastoral Staff team seeks to serve in such a way to work out vision, oversee pastoral care and the 'daily' running of the church. Serving on this team at present are Andy, Helen and Joost with others joining them for specific areas

 Annalize Rheeder - radiateleiden@gmail.com  Annalize is our new church staff worker, giving her time between co-ordinating our Radiate student ministry activities and helping with the church administration. Annalize is also juggling in an archaeology PhD in the mix!

 Marije  Veldkamp-Slager    - helps to head up Serve the City Leiden and acts as ICL's connection for this (married to Job)
